Sarah Becker

November 3, 1970 — June 19, 2024

Sarah Becker grew up in Winthrop Harbor, IL and graduated from ZBTHS in 1988. She attended Indiana University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Sarah then moved to California, where she began working at Wildstorm Comics as an editor. On a whim she applied to be on MTV’s “Real World,” where was eventually chosen as a cast member; she loved her time on the show. From there she worked at Disney for a time, and then moved on to touring with artists such as Britney Spears and the Lilith Fair. Sarah then worked at Manduka as a manager, and settled down in San Luis Obispo, where she thrived as a life coach and eventually became a Marriage & Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She built a wonderful practice, serving her clients with poise, compassion, and respect.  As her mother’s health began to decline, Sarah made the difficult decision to move back to Illinois in order to take over her care and also to become guardian for her sister Candy.

Sarah is remembered by her family, friends, and the scores of people she touched throughout her life. Sarah loved to travel the world, going as far as Bali to explore her spiritual side. She loved to be out and about in nature, whether she was on a ranch in California or watching the birds in her backyard. She had so much love for her pets – her miniature horse Twinkle Toes, her dog Leroy, and her cat Big Boy. She also loved hiking, skateboarding, rollerblading, and just being outside as much as she could. She was selfless in her ability to reach out and help others, touching lives wherever she went. Sarah Becker will be missed by many.

Sarah is survived by her siblings, Jason (Kristen) Becker, and Candace Becker; two nephews, Brayden Becker, and Austin Becker; one niece, Lucy Becker; and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Blaze and Barbara Helen Becker.
