Shirley Louisa Ladewig, 42, a resident of Zion, IL, for 30 years, died at home on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Shirley was born December 8, 1970, in Waukegan, IL. She is survived by her 2 sons, Nicholas (Rosine Hunt) Ladewig and Andrew Ivey, both of Zion, IL; 4 grandchildren, Delilah, Aven, Bradley, and Chase Ladewig; her partner of 20 years Kerry Ivey of Zion, IL; her mother, Gail (Allen) Higginbottom of Zion, IL; 4 brothers, Jerry (Mary) Ladewig and William (Charlene) Ladewig, both of Zion, IL, Edward (Donna) Ladewig of Indiana, and Max (Merry) Ladewig of Zion, IL; 2 sisters, Mary (Andy) Cope of AZ, and Penny (Howard) Stein of MD; nieces and nephews, Rosemary (Louis) Custodio, Joseph (Pam) Ladewig, Jenny Ladewig, Christopher Ladewig, Daniel Ladewig, Tiffany (Antonio) Dunlap, Jennifer Stein, Amanda (Mario) Little, Ashley Kazan, Savannah Ladewig, Jordan Ladewig, Nichole (David) Gustafson, and Stephan Husko. Also surviving are 9 great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins; very dear friend Ruta Ivey; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Ladewig; her father, Jerry Ladewig Sr; and her maternal grandparents. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment is private for the family. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
