Simone Gibson

1966 — December 8, 2015

Simone Gibson, born June 27, 1966 in Waukegan, IL passed away suddenly on December 8, 2015, from a car accident. Simone, better known to her friends and family as CeCe, Mony, or Mony Mone worked at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago for over 20 years, she loved and respected her co-workers and her memory lives on in the hearts of the many she touched. She was known for her no-nonsense approach to dealing with problems and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Simone appreciated the finer things in life and believed a little indulgence after a hard day at work would brighten anyone's day. She believed in the power of a doctor's visit and left no blemish or unusual spot unattended. With her constant use of phrases "Do you know what I'm saying", "Wait a minute I'm thinking, I'm thinking", or our favorite "I'll be alright" she always put a smile on your face or a laugh in your heart . Simone is survived by her mother Mildred; siblings, Lorna, Bettina, Bridget, Gloria, Veronica, Samantha (Michael) Bearden, Myron, Bryant, Farley, Milton, Mark, Vaughn; best friend Beverly; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Gibson; brother Tyrone Gibson; niece Latasha Colley-Wade. A memorial visitation will be held at the Illinois State Beach Resort, 1 Lakefront Dr., Zion, IL, on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 3:00 until 7:00 pm.
