Steven Guidish

Steve J. Guidish, of Zion, Illinois passed away July 31, 2024 in Zion, Illinois. He was born September 29, 1965 in Sparta, Illinois to parents Billie and Cheryl Guidish.

Steven grew up in Sparta, Illinois, graduating from Sparta High School. He married Melodie on April 16, 1983. They remarried July 23, 2024. Steven attended First Missionary Baptist Church of Sparta, Illinois.

Steven served in the United States Navy from 1983 until 2003, he worked as a Gunnersmate while in the Navy. After retiring he worked as a Relocation Specialist at the Fleet and Family Support Center of NTC Great Lakes. Steven was a member of IGOLD, ICARRY, and the Republican Party. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, spending time with his pets, listening to Reggae music. He enjoyed music, and loved a good storm!

Steven is survived by his wife, Melodie S. Guidish; children, Jessica (Ryan) Rodbro and Ashley (Bryndan) Hanlon; grandchildren, Ashlynn Rodbro, Baby Rodbro (Due February 2025), and Baby Hanlon (Due February 2025); parents, Billie and Cheryl Guidish; sisters, Stephanie (Micheal) Hughes, and Wendy (Micheal) Zeidler; mother-in-law, Beth Lake; in-laws, Angela (Isaias) Zarate, Elizabeth (Jerald) Copple, Jennifer (Kenneth) Longstreet, Marquis (Ingrid) Lake Jr., Becky (Frank) Ciciora, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Marquis Lake Sr.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis and Mr. and Mrs. William Guidish

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road Zion IL, 60099 followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home.
