Stuart Nelson McCreary, the son of Sidney Howard and Nellie Cora McCreary nee Conn was born in Rush Tower (rural Festus), MO and promoted to glory on April 5, 2015 at his sons home in Bristol, WI. His nuclear family consisted of his parents (deceased), 4 brothers and 3 sisters (all deceased).
Nelson accepted the Lord in 1950 while living in Festus, MO. He was a charter member of Fairview Christian Church near Festus, Mo which is built on property donated by his father-in-law and mother-in-law (Albert and Winona Dumbauld). Many lives were touched by his life and faithful living out of his faith. He served as an Elder in each congregation he belonged to over the years. He would preach many times when the ministers would be unavailable. He was one of the earliest Trustees of St. Louis Christian College and the college remained his favorite charity over all the years. He taught Sunday School everywhere he went, both youth and adults and was quite effective at both. He married Alice Marie Dumbauld on October 31, 1936. In their retirement years they loved fishing, camping and travel. As a father, he taught with love and discipline. He placed his loving arms around all who came into his family and life.
Nelson and Alice McCreary had six sons, Stuart Allen, Stanley Howard, Neal Patrick (deceased), Michael Nelson, Dennis Eugene and Timothy Arnold McCreary.
He is survived by five loving and dedicated sons, and a beautiful collage of over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as a very large extended family.
