Sue Robinson, 84, of Zion, IL, died on Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Kenosha, WI.
Sue was born April 19, 1927, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, and had been a Zion resident for many years. She retired from the City of Zion after 14 years of service as Receptionist/ Switchboard Operator at the City Hall location, and as secretary for the Zion Civil Defense and Zion Rescue Department. Sue also served as dispatcher for Zion Civil Defense Ambulance Service and as President of the Civil Defense Ladies Auxiliary. She attended Lakeview Church in Zion. Survivors include one brother, Jim (Shirley) Booth of Zion; and many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon; a daughter, Lana; parents, Irvin and Allie Booth; 3 sisters, Reba, Ruby, and Eunice; and 5 brothers, Alvie, Arvel, Armon, Raymond, and John.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with Pastor Les Martin of Lakeview Church, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
