Susan E. Gonzales

Susan Elizabeth Gonzales (Stockton), 60, of Zion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025 after a year-long battle with COPD, Diabetes and Pneumonia. She fought valiantly and made people proud.

Susan was born December 3, 1964 in Waukegan, IL to William and Jean Stockton. She married John M. Gonzales on February 23, 2007. Susan was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. She was a Home Health Care Specialist with Cardinal Health.

Susan is survived by her husband, John Gonzales; step-daughter, Ashley Gonzales; mother, Jean Stockton; and brothers, John Stockton, Eric (Toni) Stockton; and Thomas Stockton; brother-in-law, Tony (Letty) Gonzales; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Patterson; nephews, Tony Gonzales, Michael Gonzales and Leah Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by beloved family members, Anthony Gonzales, Sr., Mary Gonzales, William A. Stockton, Sr., William A. Stockton, Jr., Steven E. Stockton, James R. Stockton, Mary Beth Prusha, Joseph A. Stockton, and Samantha Stockton.

The family would like to acknowledge Susan's sister-in-law, Liz and good friend, Diana Perez for their unwavering and long-time personal care and support.

UPDATED....A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Lake County Sports Center, 351 Oakwood Ave, Waukegan, IL. Doors open at  3:00 p.m. Prayers will be said at 4:00 p.m., followed by dinner and celebration approximately 5:00 pm. (Flowers may be sent directly to the Sports Center).
