Susan Larson

1924 — August 20, 2008

Susan "Susie" Larson, 84 of Zion, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at her home. She was born August 15, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN. She moved to what is now the Park City area in 1949 and was one of the founders of the City of Park City in 1958, serving two terms as councilwoman in the late 1970's/early 1980's. This past July, she was honored as parade Marshall at the 50th anniversary of the founding of Park City. Over the years Susie was always very involved in local Park City Activities for both the residents and the children of the community and she was a former member of the Park City Lioness Club. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Roger Larson; children, Sister Thomasette "Judy" Scheeler of St. Joseph, MN and Nancy (Robert) Wells of Zion; and two grandchildren, Eric T. (Christine) Wells of Volo, IL and Diana M. Wells of Burlington, IA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Scheeler; siblings, Adeline Sibinski, Edith Morgan, Nick DeGidio and Anthony DeGidio; and her parents, Nick and Anna DeGidio. Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2008, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Rev. Forrest R. Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, Illinois.
