Sylvester James Pudelek, 87, of Beach Park, died July 29, 2016, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Sylvester was born August 11, 1928, in Chicago and attended DePaul Academy High School in Chicago. He married Camille Grzeszkowiak on September 19, 1959, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Chicago. He attended Our Lady of Humility Church and worked bingo. Sylvester served in the Navy for 4 years as a Second Class Petit Officer and Boiler Technician aboard the USS Sicily. He is a Veteran of the Korean War. Sylvester worked for ComEd for 34 years and retired in 1990 as a master mechanic in management.
He is survived by his 4 children, Michael Pudelek of South Milwaukee, WI, Margaret Duty of Kenosha, WI, Sara Pudelek of St. Paul, MN, and Carol Pudelek of Beach Park, IL; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Camille Pudelek; parents; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Zion. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be private for the family.
