Thomas G Love

Thomas G Love of Waukegan, IL passed away on June 3, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1936, in Spring Valley, IL.
 

Thomas was a member of IBEW Local150 and as an Electrical Inspector for the City of Waukegan His passion for the electrical trade was evident throughout his life.
 
 A proud Veteran, Thomas served from 1954 to 1958 and was stationed in Berlin, where he served in the Military police and met his future wife. His dedication to serving his country was just one example of his commitment to duty and honor.
 
Thomas had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. From camping to traveling, genealogy to woodworking, he found fulfillment in various activities. However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his cherished family and friends.
 
Thomas was a valued member of the Waukegan Masonic Lodge #78 for an impressive 62 years and had the privilege of serving as Past Worshipful Master in 1970 and 1991. Additionally, he was involved with the Waukegan Royal Arch Masons, Zion Benton Moose Lodge, Berlin U.S. Military Association, IBEW Retirees Club, and had dedicated time as a former Boy Scout leader and sports coach.
 
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Baerbel; children, Anne Love, Thomas (Judy) Love, and James (Kelly) Love; daughter-in-law, Janice Love; sister-in-law, Marianne (Mike) Lareau; grandchildren, Michael, Thomas III, Elisabeth, Melissa (Zack) Mirsberger, Alexandra (Michael) Groth, Caleb, Nicole (Kyle) Ogden, Alissa and Danielle Love; six great-grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews
 
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet Love; son, Jeffrey L Love; brothers, John, Edward, Martin; sisters, Margaret, Charlotte and Ruth and mother-in-law Hildegard Ziwiez.
 
A visitation will take place at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd Zion, IL on Friday, June 7th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment to be private for the family.
