Thomas H. "Tom" Pell, 72, of Zion, IL, died on Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Grove at the Lake Nursing Home in Zion.
Tom was born January 31, 1943, in Chicago, IL, and was a graduate of Gwinn High School, Gwinn, MI. He married Betty Perry on February 24, 1968, at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion where he was an active member. Tom worked for Handy Andy in Gurnee for about 20 years and then for Chicago Trucking International in Grayslake. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a 50 year member of the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Betty; daughter, Rebecca (Matthew) Rymer of Strongsville, OH; grandchildren, Madalyn, Rachel, Jullian, and Avery; brothers, Robert Pell of Gwinn, MI, and Ronald Pell of Oakland, AR; and brother-in-law, Bill (Julie) Perry of Barrington, IL. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and other family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Martha Pell and brother, Richard Pell.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the the Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 1:30 p. m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Memorial United Methodist Church.
