Thomas "Tom" D. Joplin Jr.

Thomas “Tom” D. Joplin Jr., 65, of Beach Park, IL, died September 8, 2017 after a long illness.
Tom was born August 8, 1952 in Waukegan, IL and was a life long resident of the area. He attended Spaulding School and graduated from Warren Township High School in 1970. He worked for many years at Weil Cadillac as an auto technician.
Tom was a huge fan of the NHRA and NASCAR. He loved working on his old cars and riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Donna (Kerley); his son Jason (Krystal) Joplin; three granddaughters; Arianna Skye Joplin, Brooklyn Nichole Joplin and Jadyn Mariah Joplin and his sister, Nancy Joplin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas Denzel Joplin and Geraldine Joplin.
A celebration of his life and open house will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Stone Creek Restaurant in Winthrop Harbor, IL Interment will be private. The Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL is assisting the family.
