Timothy "Tim" Kangas, 49, of Beach Park, IL, died on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Sheridan Health Care Center in Zion. Tim was born February 21, 1959 in Waukegan and had lived in various locations throughout the United States including Florida and Texas before settling back in Waukegan. He attended St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukegan and was a Superintendent for Kangas Construction, a company owned by the late Antti Kangas, his father. Tim was an avid pool player and he enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals. Survivors include two daughters, Rita Kangas and Meeri Kangas, both of Irving, TX; one sister, Lise Myllymaki of Wadsworth; dear friend, Mario Garza of Wadsworth; nephews, Anthony and Steven Myllymaki, both of Wadsworth; his ex-wife, Edna Kangas of Irving, TX; his dear companion, Peach of Winthrop Harbor; and various cousins in Finland, Germany, Illinois and South Dakota. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Jari Myllymaki; and his parents, Antti and Meeri (nee Ukkonen) Kangas. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Koth of St. Mark's Evangelical Church of Waukegan officiating and with private cremation to follow. Memorial donations to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
