Timothy Rossmann

Rossmann, Timothy Shane "Tim" 59, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully after his courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August, 9, 2013, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion, IL surrounded by family. Tim was born February 19, 1954, in Waukegan, IL, and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1972. He retired from the North Shore Gas Company after 35 years of employment. Tim was a lifelong, avid citizen of Zion. He was a simple man who lived a simple life while enjoying the "little things." He believed that life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, only to say WOW! WHAT A RIDE! He loved fishing in the North Woods, spending time with family and friends, and Old Style beer. Survivors include a daughter, Shanda (Jason) Hoenig of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Cody Hoenig, Taylor Rossmann, and Jaycie Hoenig; sister, Terry Kay Sorzickas of Mountain Home, AR; niece, Tori (Tim) Hutchens; nephew, TR (Jen) Rossmann; niece, Tiffany Rossmann; and close friend, Ricky (Terry) Bergstrom and his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Shane Rossmann Jr.; father and mother, Thomas and Ruth Rossmann; and brother, Tom Rossmann. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
