Virgil "Peter" Bruner, 66, of Beach Park, died on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. He was born February 22, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska, and has been a resident of Lake County for the past 27 years. He was a member of St. Anastasia Church of Waukegan, and he belonged to the Holy Name Society at St. Anastasia. He was employed at Able Industries in Franklin Park, Illinois, for 50 years. He was also an avid film buff, loved classical music and enjoyed playing the tenor saxophone. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Janice; children Christina Kinney of Spencer, Indiana and Kathleen (Lyle) Albaum of Kenosha, Wisconsin; four grandchildren Melissa (Robert Bandy) Kinney, Sarah Kinney, Colleen Kinney and Mary Kinney; two great-grandchildren Chase and Kivan Bandy; and his sweetheart pet, Gabriella. He was preceded in death by his father James Bruner; his mother Florann Hawkins; and his step-father Clarence "Chick" Hawkins. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Avenue, Waukegan. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Memorial donations to Holy Name Society at St. Anastasia Church have been suggested.
