Virginia Vidakovic

Virginia Vidakovic (nee Nagode), 85, of Winthrop Harbor, Il, formerly of North Chicago, IL, died on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion. She was born June 6, 1929 in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan High School the top of her class. Virginia was a member of Slovene National Benefit Society, Lodge #584. She enjoyed spending time with family at home and enjoyed watching old movies and the Molly B Polka Show. Survivors include her children Nancy (Fiancé Dr. Jack Chulengarian) Stanley of Beach Park, IL, Pattie (Dave Acred) Beck of Wauconda, IL, Karen (Art) Gesky of Gurnee, IL, Nick Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, IL, David Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Thomas (Martha Bernal) Vidakovic of Waukegan, IL, and Robert Vidakovic of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren Adam, Joseph, Jenna, Justin, Tammi, Michael, and Cody; four great-grandchildren Alijah, Myles, Katie, and Emily; one sister Edie (Ron) Kantola of Waukegan, IL; and her beloved faithful K-9 companion, "Daisy". She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Vidakovic; sons Joseph J. Vidakovic Jr. and William Vidakovic; siblings Mary (and the late Iggy) Znidersic, Judith (and the late Dr. Steve) Sipos, and Eddie Nagode; and her parents Frank and Mary Nagode. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Memorial donations to either Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org) or Humane Society of United States (www.humanesociety.org) have been suggested.
