Vivian M. Farmer, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away after a long illness at Woodstock Nursing Home in Kenosha, on Thursday, November 25, 2010.
Vivian was born August 21, 1931, in Flint, MI, and lived in the Pleasant Prairie area all of her life. She married James Farmer on June 18, 1949, in Waukegan, IL. Vivian retired from American Motors in Kenosha (15 years of employment) and prior to that worked for Warwick Electronics in Zion. (17 years of employment) She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Farmer; sons, Robert Farmer of Kenosha, WI, Joel Farmer of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Charles Farmer of Kenosha, WI; daughter, Jamie (Robert) Toliver of Kenosha, WI; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Hall of Kenosha, WI, Pat Chamblee of Fulton, MS, Anita (John) Moses of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Johnnie Epperson of Marshall, TX, and Judy Tate of Winthrop Harbor, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dowell and Gertrude Kelley; and sisters, Margaret Chamblee and Virginia Springer.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, with Pastor Dave Adams of New Song Ministries of Zion, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, WI. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
