Wanda L. Eschenbauch, 83, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Wanda was born June 6, 1930, in Evansville, IN. She graduated from White Lake High School in White Lake, WI, in 1948, and married Leonard Eschenbauch in that same town on August 26, 1950. Wanda was a 1954 Charter Member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Wanda was an excellent cook and baker. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Leonard; children, Karen (Rolland) Richardson of Waukegan, IL, Gregory (Karen) Eschenbauch of Clovis, NM, Dianna (Andy) Savage of Alpharetta, GA, Brian Eschenbauch of Appleton, WI, and Cindy (Ernie Garner) Pocklington of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Smith of Lake Villa, IL, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Amy Strean; brothers, Bill and Robert Strean; sister, Josephine Hopkins; and son-in-law, Donald Pocklington.
A Funeral Service will held on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation,
