Warren Tjader

1926 — March 31, 2010

Warren H. Tjader, 83, of Winthrop Harbor, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at home, surrounded by his family. He was a carpenter, building homes and remodeling in the area for nearly 50 years. Warren took great pride in his craftsmanship; a skill passed down from his grandfather, to his father and then to his own sons. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ingrid; daughter, Rebecca (Kevin) Kinnavy of Winthrop Harbor; sons, Eric Tjader of Winthrop Harbor and Steven (Lauren) Tjader of Zion; grandchildren, Lindsey Mallek (Fiancée Kelly FitzMaurice), Ryan Mallek, and Chase and Cameron Tjader; sisters, Dorothy Stofferahn of Kenosha, WI, Jean (Robert) Johnson of Winthrop Harbor, and Janet (Dean) Wilson of Antioch; brothers, Donald (Violet) Tjader of Winthrop Harbor and David Tjader of Zion; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He has joined his parents, William and Jennie Tjader, brother Richard Tjader, and brother-in-law Norm Stofferahn, in Glory. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 9th St. & Kenosha Rd., Zion, with Rev. Ron Greene, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, attn: Tribute Gifts, Church Street Station, P.O.
