William Beckenbaugh

William D. Beckenbaugh, 77, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois died on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Bill was born August 24, 1932 in Chicago and moved to Winthrop Harbor in 1992 from Melrose Park, Illinois. He was a member of North Prairie United Methodist Church of Winthrop Harbor where he was also active with the Men's Club of the Church. Bill retired in 1997 from McMaster Carr in Elmhurst and later worked as a security guard at Cherry Electric in Waukegan. Bill was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the United States Air Force. He was also a member of Loyal Order of Moose and he was a die-hard Cubs Fan. Survivors include his wife, Judy Beckenbaugh; one daughter, Deborah Beckenbaugh (Harvey) Kligora of Racine, Wisconsin; step-children, Mike (Rosie) Martinelli of Winthrop Harbor, Bob (Diane) Martinelli of Winthrop Harbor, Theresa (Brad) Liedtke of Carson, Washington and Kathy (Jim) Pichelmann of Winthrop Harbor; step-grandchildren, Michaela, Sophia, Kati, Buddy, Elianna, Kyle, Melina, Brice, Emily and Travis; two sisters, Betty Jean (Gerald) Bordes of Palatine, Illinois and Shirley Ann Schuster of Lake of the Hills, Illinois; and two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Beckenbaugh; one son, William Dale Beckenbaugh II; his God son, Gerald Bordes; and his mother, Eleanor Shulich. Visitation will be Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Ronald Greene of North Prairie United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will also be Sunday, May 16, 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave., Franklin Park, Illinois where funeral services will be held on Monday, May 17th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois
