William J. "Bill" Peacy Jr., 76, of Waukegan, IL, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL.
Bill was born November 16, 1939, in Waukegan and was raised in Zion, IL. He was a 1958 graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. Bill wed Sharon Madden on April 21, 1962. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion where he served as an usher. Bill was a retired 28 year firefighter with the Waukegan Fire Department and a retiree from Keller Trucking in Park City. He and his wife Sharon founded the Little Fort Kennel Club of Waukegan and Bill also served as a Board Member of the Irish Wolfhound Club of America. Bill is remembered for his love of golf, his kindness, hard work ethic and love of his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Dr. William (Siobhan) Peacy III of Plainfield, IL, and Brandon (Kelly) Peacy of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Garrett Peacy of Plainfield, IL, and Tiernen (Nathan Dye) Peacy-Dye of Woodridge, IL, and great-grandson Atticus Dye. Bill is also survived by other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, in 2006.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with Pastor Mike McDowell of Christ Community Church, officiating. A private cremation will follow. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in memory of Bill Peacy.
