William "Willie" Welch

William Thomas “Willie” Welch, 65, of Waukegan IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 8, 2025.

Born on January 28, 1960 in Waukegan IL to parents Robert and Vada Welch. 

William, affectionately known as “Willie” had a passion for life that was infectious. A lover of cars, he spent countless hours tinkering with engines and appreciating the art of automotive design. His love for classic cars was shared with friends and family for years. He fully restored his 1970 1⁄2 split bumper Camaro, one of his favorite projects.

William was deeply loved by his partner, Connie of 25 years with whom he shared many memorable moments. Their bond was a testament to his kind heart and loyalty. A man of great character, Willie was always there for those who needed him, offering support, humor, and companionship. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Willie is survived by his life-long partner, Connie Hogan; siblings, Lawrence (Ludean) Welch, David (Shiela) Welch, Renee Werenski, Melanie (Perry) Seilheimer, Charlie (Brenda) Welch, and Paul (Krystal) Welch; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded In death by his parents, Robert and Vada Welch; sister, Kimberly Jones; nephew, Nathaniel Welch; and uncle, Joseph Reinhardt.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday February 22, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
