Tomadean Mills

Tomadean Mills, 82, of Zion, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She was born August 1, 1931 in Red Bay, AL. Family was the most important thing to her and she was always surrounded with grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved music and always enjoyed telling stories of her life. She was loved by many and will be truly missed. She retired from Cherry Electric. She attended First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, IL. Survivors include children Judy (Wayne) Mattonen of Zion, IL, Billy Joe (Chris) Tate of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Mark (Anna) Mills of Lake Geneva, WI; grandkids Danielle (Pedro) Dragman-Rivera, Christy Tate, Melissa Mattonen, Craig (Sarah) Mills, Kyle Mills, Cody Tate, and Jordan Mattonen; great-grandkids Alex Rivera, Jada Torres, Ryan Rivera, Joey Rivera, Carter Mattonen, Austin Morgan, Ashton Tate, Jaxon Rivera, and Lincoln Mills; one brother Carlton (Dorothy) Barker of Zion, IL; special sister-in-law Shirley Tate of Zion, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She is proceeded in death by her husband Charles Mills; grandson Josh Tate; parents Henry and Maudie Barker; sisters Pearl, Merle, Birdie, Nolyer, and Ruby; and brothers Cope (Vaudie) Barker, and Ethridge Barker. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
