Twyla A. Adams, (nee Kistler), 92, of Waukegan died on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at home surrounded by family.
Twyla was born, April 7, 1919, in Morning Sun, Iowa. She had lived in the Waukegan area for over 50 years. She married her late husband, Howard A. Adams on November 28, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA, a marriage that lasted 63 years. Twyla was a member of Wesley Church in Waukegan for about 40 years. She volunteered in the church library and nursery for many years. Twyla was a fine Christian woman who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed cheering faithfully for the Chicago Cubs and Bulls and never missed a game on TV. Twyla also loved to read and especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children; Bryan A. (Lynn) Adams, Pamela N. Adams, Jarmela K. (Michael) Cliff, Daniel B. Adams, and P. Jane Adams; grandchildren, Bradley (Laura) Adams, Amy (Wayne) Kesul, Thomas (Jenn) Cliff, Joshua (Kari) Cliff, Rachel (Phillip) Newton, Daniel Cliff, Sarah Cliff, Colter Adams, Bridger Adams, and Quincy Adams; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Jarvis and Muriel Scott; and brother, Marvin Kistler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Adams in 2005; parents, Arthur and Jessie (nee, Van de Mark) Kistler; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; and daughter-in-law, Connie Adams.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeland Evangelical Free Church, 440 N. Hunt Club Rd.,Gurnee, IL. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 1:00 p.m until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Sky Lodge Christian Camp in Montello, WI. (A ministry of Wesley Church)
