Obituary of Virginia Rawhoof

Virginia H. Rawhoof, 67, of Zion, age 85, died peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at her home in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She attended school at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran School and Mary D Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. She moved to Zion, Illinois after marrying husband Eugene , June 11, 1949. Virginia enjoyed spending time and playing games with her family and friends. She also like growing flowers and watching birds. Virginia was a loving and caring mother for her two children; a son, Donald, and a daughter, Sandra. She was employed at the Bakery Division of Zion Industries until 1951. Virginia was an active member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zion, IL active in the Ladies Guild. She was also a homemaker from 1951 until the time of her death. Survivors include two children, Donald E. Rawhoof of North Richland Hills, TX, and Sandra (Gary) Kern of Kenosha, WI; two grandsons, Gary Dale (Lisa) Kern of Marshfield, WI, and Travis Kern of Kenosha, WI; and one great-granddaughter, Saffire Rose-Marie Kern. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2004; parents, Frederick and Julia Riske; two brothers, Rudolph J. and Maynard D. Bieber; and sister, Emma Kollman. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 10:00 at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd St., Zion, with Pastor Jack Kelly, officiating. Interment will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Memorial donations are suggested to Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church, or their Ladies Guild, or the American Diabetes Association.
