Obituary of Peggy Stam

Peggy L. Stam (nee Watts), 55, of Zion, was promoted to Glory on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, after a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer. Peggy was born December 4, 1952, in Waukegan to Bibb and Luna Watts. She graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1971 and attained an Associates Degree in Secretarial Studies from the College of Lake County in 1988. She married Michael Stam on October 15, 1988. Peggy was a devout Christian and lived her faith daily. She walked hand in hand with her Lord through many trials, always living in God's Grace and Eternal Love. She leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Michael Stam; mother and step-father, Luna and Carl Schaber; sister, Pat Archer; nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Dan) Ruth, Kathy (Tony) Christy, Michail (Anna) Zervos, Nancy (Lorenzo) Hudlun, and Saleha Gizani; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nickolas, Dresden, Nathaniel, Caleb, Abby, Emma, Tyler, and Audrey; special friends, Evelyn, Robert, Aggie, and Donna. She was preceded in death by her father, Bibb Watts; her grandparents; several aunts and uncles, and her brother-in-law, Charles Archer. A Celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, 3001 9th St., Winthrop Harbor, with Dr. Michael Brown of First Baptist Church and Chaplain Jim Fisher of Midwestern Regional Medical Center, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm. Thursday until the time of service at the church. Interment will be private at Pineview Cemetery in Beach Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Midwestern Regional Medical Center for their dedication and hard work throughout Peggy's illness.
