Obituary of Sylvestre Castellanos

Sylvestre Castellanos, 73, of Belize, Central America and formerly of Waukegan, died on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion. He was born November 12, 1934 in Belize and lived in Waukegan for over 30 years. Following his retirement from Guy Scopelliti Landscaping of Gurnee, he moved back to Belize. He was also a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church of Waukegan and did volunteer work for Staben House also in Waukegan. Survivors include his wife, Lydia; eight children; 13 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2008, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Burial will be later in San Ignacio Cemetery, San Ignacio, Belize, Central America. following a funeral Mass there.
