Obituary of Violet Scheerens

Violet "Vi" Scheerens, 87, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Saxon, WI, died on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at home. Violet was born April 30, 1921, in Saxon, WI, and married Cyril Scheerens on August 28, 1947, in Saxon, WI. She was an active charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zion. Violet was an avid Cubs fan, and she loved doing crossword puzzles. She had a special fondness for children and gave childcare to many families. She is survived by daughters, Kristine (Charles) Suzik of Ironwood, MI, and Lynnea (Timothy) Plutchak of Beach Park, IL; grandsons, Seth (Mindy) Nasi of Oshkosh, WI, and Paul Suzik of Ironwood, MI; brothers, Clarence (Elsie) Holm of Omro, WI, and Richard (Francis) Holm of Ironwood, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril; her parents; and brothers, Elmer, Harold, and Leonard "Shorty" Holm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd St., Zion, with Pastor Jack Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Pine View Cemetery in Beach Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
