Obituary of Raymond Heilmann

Raymond W. Heilmann, 59 1/2, of Zion, IL, died on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Raymond was born April 11, 1949 in Waukegan. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park. Raymond retired in 2004 from Abbott Laboratories after 36 years. He served with the United States Navy onboard the USS Sarsfield. He was also a member of Zion-Benton Moose #667. He enjoyed diving, fishing, traveling, golf and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Nadine; two daughters, Nicole Heilmann of Tampa, FL, and Jennifer (Jeff) Dempski of Zion; two grandchildren, Tyler and Lillian; two sisters, Mariann (Ron) Carlton of Zion and Bunny (Fred) Pitts of Beach Park; niece and nephews, Kristina (Andy) Olson, David (Maureen) Heilmann, Patrick (Celina) Carlton, and Michael (Amanda) Carlton; and his brother-in-law, Curtis Turkington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Helen Heilmann. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
