Obituary of Robert Dusek

Robert "Bob" Dusek, 80, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, completed life's journey in Sarasota, Florida and went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. He was born December 11, 1927, in Libertyville, IL, to the late Benjamin and Ina Dusek, the older of two sons. Robert lived in Zion, IL, from 1951 to 1974 and moved to Winthrop Harbor, IL, for the remainder of his 34 years. He enjoyed retirement by spending his winters in the warmer climate of Sarasota, Florida. Robert received his early childhood education in the Libertyville Public School system. United States Army Corporal Robert Dusek honorably supported the United States during the Korean War from 1952 to 1953. After returning from the Korean War, he worked for Abbott Laboratories. In 1960, he graduated from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 150 Trade School and became a licensed electrician. He retired in 1992 from Geary Electric. He was a member of the Christ Community Church of Zion and active member of the IBEW Local Retiree's Club. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth; sons, Randall (Nicole) Dusek of Grayslake, and Robert (Jennifer) Dusek of Sycamore, IL. He leaves behind 5 beautiful grandchildren, Cora, Benjamin, Christian, Taylor, Emma and another one on the way. He was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Dusek. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Wiziarde of Christ Community Church of Zion, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion .
