Loren graduated from numerous banking schools including the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He served in the United States Navy as an aerial photographer out of Glenview Naval Air Station. On September 20, 1952, Loren made the best decision of his life, marrying Janet Peterson. As a lifelong member of Christ Community Church, Loren had been in the Zion Passion Play, Ushered for many years, and served on the Church Board. Loren chaired and served on innumerable civic and business committees and boards, but his fondest service was as a member of the Camp Zion Board for 6 years. During his retirement he had also assisted his lifelong best friend, Vernie Edwards, in many building projects including Camp Zion in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin. Loren was very thankful for his wonderful life. He was pleased to be a good steward at the bank. His great passion for flying led him to Oshkosh, Wisconsin each summer and many happy hours flying his Mooney 201 as an instrument rated pilot. Loren and Jan traveled widely especially enjoying Palm Springs, California. He and Jan also enjoyed sharing their home in Gills Rock with family and friends where Loren became steward of the local bird population. Loren was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ralph and Ruth Petreman Storey; brothers, Vic (Edna), Don, Jim and Roger; and sisters, Virginia Wirth, Jessie (Ross) Burgess and Adelle (Ed) Groome.
