Obituary of Lorraine Lundin

Lorraine Alice Lundin, 81, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Lorraine was born April 5, 1927 in Englevale, ND and has lived in Winthrop Harbor most of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family and especially her great-grandchildren. Over the years she did babysitting for many area families. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting, donating many afghans for area fund-raisers. Survivors include her two loving daughters, Susan Worden and Patricia (Richard) Hanson, both of Winthrop Harbor; one grandson, Michael (Wendi) Good of Pleasant Prairie, WI; five step-grandchildren, Jeff (Lea) Hanson, David (Candace) Hanson, Kimberly Hanson, Robert Hanson and Abigail Hanson; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Jacob Good; seven step-grandchildren, Calvin, Jeremy, Meredith, Nicholas, Ian, Kayla and Morgan; five siblings, Marvin Hopewell of Milbank, SD, Shirley Funk of Lisbon, ND, Gerald (Geraldine) Hopewell of Leonard, ND, Fay (Neal) Tangen of Kathryn, ND and Clark (Carolyn) Hopewell of Mesa, AZ; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and her parents, Guy and Emma Hopewell. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2008, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 11:00 a.m., at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Corley officiating and private cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Northpoint Church, 900 North Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096 have been suggested.
