Obituary of Eugene Levra

Eugene "Gene" Levra, 75 of Zion, died on January 9, 2009, at Vista Medical Center East Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois. Gene was born August 26, 1933, in Pence, WI, and was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Hurley, WI. He married his late wife, Frances Ables in 1958. Gene started working for the former American Motors in Kenosha in November of 1958, and retired from there in October of 1988. He worked as a Chief Steward in Dept. 824 for over 20 years. Gene served in the United States Army Occupation Force of World War II. Survivors include his sister, Gloria (Dave) Ammala of Missouri; nephews, Michael (Louise) Ammala and Dirk (Wendy) Ammala; and special friend, Sue Cuffe. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Barney Levra and Madeline (nee Negri) Levra; his wife, Frances Levra in 2001 and an infant son. Funeral services are private for the family.
