Curtis Elbert Carman, 79, of Waukegan, IL died on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Born on March 6, 1929 to Everette and Katie Carman in Rosiclare, IL.
Passed away on February 4, 2009.
Married Betty Jean Shebesta on September 17, 1949. Past Master of Waukegan Masonic Lodge #78, Past High Priest of Waukegan Chapter #41 Royal Arch Mason, member of Lake Council #121 in Waukegan, Honorary member of Golconda Masonic Lodge in Golconda, IL, and member of Sword of Bunker Hill in Brookport, IL. In November, 2008, Curt received a plaque honoring him for his many years of service to the lodge and also received a lifetime dues paid certificate. Retired from American Motors in 1984.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Betty Jean Carman; two daughters, Delia Marie White of Waukegan and Betty Jo (Thomas) Dietz of Winthrop Harbor; five grandchildren, Steve Arthurs of Chicago, Lisa (Shawn) Herrin of Winthrop Harbor, Aminty (Rodney) Ruiz of Round Lake, Jenny (Scott) Humphres of Pleasant Prairie and Tommy Dietz of Winthrop Harbor. Poppy to six great-grandchildren, Chasity White, Ryan Ruiz, Kelly and Kaitlyn Herrin, Kyle and Sam Humphres; four brothers, Hershel (Francis) Carman of Metropolis, Hubert (Charlene) Carman of Golconda, Wendall (Linda) Carman of Danfort, and Jerry (Bonnie) Carman of Kankakee; five sisters, Madeline (late Albert) Carr, Catherine (late Don) Riley, Ann (Bill) Robinson of Elizabethtown, Doris (Donnie) Millis and Loris (Eugene) Walker of Golconda, sister- in law, Virginia Rawhoof of Kenosha.
Preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Katie Carman; brothers, Eugene Rawhoof and Everette Carman; and two brothers, Earnest Raymond and James Leonard in infancy.
Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2009 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dowell officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville.
