Obituary of Claire Rendall

Claire Herbert Rendall, 81, of Zion, died on Friday, February 27, 2009, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, surrounded by his family. He will be truly missed by family and friends in Wisconsin, Illinois, and around the country. He was born to Orrin and Bessie on December 2, 1927 Plainfield, Wl, and graduated Zion Benton High School 1945. He was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packer fan. Claire served in the Merchant Marines, National Guard and enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. While stationed in Ft. Worth Texas he met Wildena Bearden, right then they clicked and soon married. He was employed by Tangley Oaks/United Educators, Lake Bluff, IL. Claire was a loving, caring, generous, and supportive family man. He was a life long member of the Meadowridge Baptist Church in Zion, serving as a Deacon, building committee member, Treasurer, numerous committees and various responsibilities. Claire was greatly loved and much appreciated by his church family. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Wildena; children, William (Joan) Rendall of Beach Park, IL, Gary (Gerry) Rendall of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Jeffrey (Vickie) Rendall of Burlington, WI; grandchildren, Cassie, Curt, Savannah, Ryan, and Rebeccah; great-granddaughter, Elena Martinez; brother, Leland (Ruby) Rendall of Almond, WI; sister, Doris Huhta of Houston, TX, and many, many, nieces and nephews. Sisters, Thelma McDowell and Edna Ramsey precede him in death; and brothers, Norman, Sumner, and Russell Rendall. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. with Dr. Rob Whitworth of Meadowridge Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2009, from 5:00-8.00p.m. at the funeral home.
