Ethel M. Pushee, 92, of Zion, Illinois, died on Sunday, March 15, 2009 after a brief stay at Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan.
Ethel was born June 30, 1916 in Zion. After attending Parochial Schools in Zion, she married Robert E. Pushee on December 1, 1934. She was a charter member of Lakeview Church of Zion where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years and worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Survivors include her children, Janis (Eugene) Chase of Zion, Ruth (Larry) Magee of Mesa, Arizona, Barbara (Robert) Mercer of Monona, Wisconsin and Robert (Linda) Pushee of Zion; grandchildren, Diane Jenkins, Theresa Raymond, Scott Magee, Tamera Anderson, Tracey Rockhill, Tim McClure, Tiffany Swatek, Kimberly Schmitz, Michelle Dussault and Leann Burch; nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Gladys (Raymond) Curran of Waukegan, Earl (Rachel) Richardson of Greenwood, Wisconsin, Marjorie (Lyle) Springer of Beach Park, Myrtle Ortwig of Greenwood, Wisconsin and Glenn (Elsie) Richardson of Beach Park; her sister-in-law, Gloria Pushee of Kenosha, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Maria Maciog.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Pushee; one brother, Earnest Richardson; and her parents, Harry and Mildred Richardson.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2009, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 19th Street and Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church with Pastor Les Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
