George Walter Paulausky, 74, of Beach Park, Illinois and Bullhead City, Arizona, died on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois.
George was born June 24, 1935 in Waukegan, had lived in this area all of his life and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park and St. Margaret Mary Church in Bullhead City, Arizona. He owned and operated Paulausky Landscaping in Lake County, Illinois. George was a member of Waukegan Loyal Order of Moose, had served in this area as a precinct committeeman and he was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Freiberg-Paulausky; children, son Larry (Diane) Paulausky and their children Emily and Holly, daughter Linda Odegaard and son Lon Paulausky and his daughter, Allie; stepchildren, Suzie (Dale) Lehman, Jim (Kim) Serzynski, John (Chris) Serzynski, Alan (Gail) Freiberg, David (Kathy) Freiberg and Michael (Suzanne) Freiberg; several step-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Paulausky and Gene (Berka) Paulausky; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Joe, Marvis and Donald; and his parents, John and Margaret Paulausky.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2009, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, July 2nd, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Memorial donations to Our Lady of Humility Church Building Fund have been suggested.
