Obituary of George Ulrich

George F. Ulrich, 84, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at home. George was born February 20, 1925, in Chicago, and married his late wife Rose Marie on May 1, 1948, in Chicago. He was retired from Commonwealth Edison where he worked for the Zion Nuclear and Northwest Station in Chicago. George served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 118 in Chicago, USS Enterprise CV-6 Association and the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Louise (Philip) Mastrianno ;sons George Ulrich and Kenneth (Christine) Ulrich; grandchildren, Anna Marie (Steven) Schott, Matthew (Jenah) Ulrich and Andrew (Beth) Ulrich; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Mark Schott and Lillian Ulrich. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie and parents, George and Augusta Ulrich, nee Pantack. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009, from 5:00-8:00 p.m at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A graveside interment service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park. Memorial donations are suggested to Star Hospice.
