Ronald F. Lynch Jr., 71, of Waukegan, IL, died on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at home, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born September 23, 1937, in Chicago, and was a graduate of DeVry Institute. He married Carol Augello on October 31, 1964, at St. William's Church in Chicago. Ron was a member of St. Dismas Church in Waukegan and was a former long time member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. He was retired from Baxter Healthcare in Round Lake where he had been employed as a Sterility Engineer. Ron was a member of Elk's Lodge #702 in Waukegan where he served as treasurer for many years, and also a member of the Instrument Society of America. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he worked in radar and was an excellent marksman. Ron also was a professional musician, playing drums for the "Mellow Men", for many events in the Chicago area. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol; sons, John Lynch of Waukegan and Robert(Elizabeth) Lynch of Rolling Meadows, IL ;granddaughter, Molly Lynch; brother, Raymond (Jennie ) Lynch of Darien, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews , and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ronald Sr. and Stella Lynch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset, Waukegan. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 9, 2009, at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
