Obituary of Wanzell Adams

Wanzell Adams, 91, of Stratford, WI, formerly of Zion, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. She was born in Tremont, MS on November 12, 1917 to Lowell and Adelle Ruth. She moved to Zion in 1941 where she met and married Floyd C. Adams. They had four children together, Jerry, Sharon, Mary and Terry. She retired from Fansteel in 1973. She is survived by three children, Sharon (Niels) Johansen, Mary (Tom) Gibson and Terry (Denise) Adams; friendship daughter and son, Sandra and Delt Petree; daughter-in-law, Virginia Adams; sister-in-law, Bea Ruth; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; one son, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Joyce; her brother, T.L. Ruth; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Joshua Gilmore of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home.
