Obituary of Anna Draudt

Anna Marie (Jensen) Draudt, is celebrated for 95 years of life and love, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was born in Highland Park, IL, and is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her parents, Ester and Jens Jensen; siblings, Albert (Jim) Jensen and Ebba Goronson; and her nephews, Don Goronson and Wade Jensen. She survived by her children, Fred (Joanne) Draudt, Carol (Dino) Marin, Linnea (Gene) Baker and Lawrence (Larry) Draudt II. She also leaves to remember her, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Anna was a life long resident of Lake County and called Winthrop Harbor home! She was an active participant of the political processes, both with local and national involvement with the Lake County Democratic Woman's Association, and wrote many opinions published in the Zion News. One of her greatest prides was sharing in the vision and ultimate building of the Zion Community Hospital, where she also worked as a nurse. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with her granddaughter, Chaplain Cheri Tuccy of Odyssey Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Newport Township, Illinois. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m until the time of service at the funeral home. A special thanks to Odyssey Hospice for the care given to Anna and also to her care givers at Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan.
