Obituary of Pierre Pickell

Pierre L. Pickell Pierre L. Pickell, 78, of Zion, IL, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009, at Kindred Hospital of Milwaukee. Pierre was born September 9,1931, in Chicago, IL and married Shirley King on September 5, 1966 at the 1st Methodist Church in Waukegan. He retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1992 after about 36 years of employment. Pierre was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of American Legion Post # 281, and a former Mason with the Waukegan Lodge. He was fond of listening to opera. Survivors include daughter, Margaret Hunter of Beach Park, IL; son, Kenneth Pickell of the Philippines; grandchildren, Megan, Dagmar, and Cheyenne Hunter; great-grandson, Jordan McGill; brother, Ernest (Patty) Pickell of Buffalo Grove, IL; and niece, Jenny Pickell. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2005; and father and mother, Loren and Margaret Pickell. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2009, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
