Obituary of Catherine Fuesting

Catherine Yvonne (nee Roedell) Fuesting, 86, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family. Catherine was born August 8, 1923 in Altamont, Illinois and had lived in Waukegan most of her life. She was an active member of St. Dismas Catholic Church Women's Auxiliary Guild. She worked at Waukegan High School as a cafeteria worker for about 20 years. Survivors include her children, Diane (Joseph) Simmer of Appleton, Wisconsin, Judith (Dennis) Victor of Waukegan, Illinois, Daniel (Marita) Fuesting of Zion, Illinois, William (Kimberly) Fuesting of Waukegan, Illinois, Kimberly (Joseph) Roe of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Robert (Kathleen) Fuesting of Zion, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her brother, Louis (Ruth) Roedell of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin; and sisters, Virginia (Henry) Quandt of Altamont, Illinois, Colleen (Casimir) Maslowski of Waukegan, Illinois, Elaine (Frank) DeLuca of Sebring, Florida and Patricia (Herschel) Benton of Double Springs, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Engelbert Joseph Fuesting; her mother and father; and one brother, Lawrence Roedell. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset, Waukegan, Illinois. Interment will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Clair's Cemetery, Altamont, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either St. Dismas Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
