Obituary of Rachel Hyllberg

Rachel Mary Julian Hyllberg, 97, formerly of Zion, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Winfield, Illinois. Rachel was born March 5, 1913 in Highland Park, Illinois, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Julian. She was an active member of the Christian Assembly of God Church for over 65 years and was the church secretary for over thirty years. She was a wise, caring, God-serving women, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by three children, Ruth (Gerald) Smith, Charles David (Phyllis) Hyllberg and Mary Johnson; one sister, Juanita (Carl) Edensword; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Eldridge, Michael Hyllberg, Laura Colby, Karla (Joel) Willitts, Jeffrey (Betty) Smith and Michelle Smith; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristin Rachel, Nicole, Natalie and Kyle Smith, Tyler and Abigail Hummel, Ashley and Leo Richardson, Christopher (Maddie) Hyllberg, Michael (Kimiko) Hyllberg, Karen Matkovich, and Mary Rachel and Zion David Willitts (twins); and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Ohanna Hyllberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilburt Hyllberg; her parents; 6 siblings; and her son-in-law, Tom Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Assembly of God Church, 2929 Bethel Blvd., Zion, with Pastor Ken Fielding officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation before the services will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Christian Assembly of God Church.
