Obituary of Josephine Esperson

Josephine "Joey" E. Pressnall Esperson, 72, of Beach Park, IL, died on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Joey was born December 20, 1937, in Waukegan, IL, to Leonard and Hazel Grant Pressnall. She was retired from Zion-Benton Township High School where she was employed as a food service worker. Joey was formerly employed by Warwick Manufacturing Company for several years and Stanley-Oliver in in Zion, IL. After retirement, Joey and her husband, Warren, loved to go on trips with the Zion Park District and the Bank of Waukegan. She especially loved going to the casinos several times a month, as well as attending Red Hat events. Survivors include her husband, Warren Esperson; sister, Joyce (Pressnall) Dulaney; brother, Sonny (Patsy) Pressnall; two nieces, Kathy Dulaney and Roxanne (Dulaney) Cantu; two nephews, David and Derek Pressnall; great-nephews, Robbie Roberts, Charles Dulaney, Terry Nixon II, Steve Sutton ll and Christopher and Christian Pressnall; nephew by marriage, Steve Sutton; and brother-in-law, Harvey Esperson. Also surviving are two step-nieces, Linea (John) Springton and children, Dave and Katie, and Chris (Jim) McDowell and children, Richard, Linsey, and Andy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Birdie Pressnall; niece, Debra Kay Sutton; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Esperson; brother-in-law, Charles Ray Dulaney; and great-great-nephew, Dillon Dulaney. Joey will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment is private for the family.
