Obituary of Laurence Charlton

Laurence "Larry" George Charlton, previously of Zion, IL and most recently of Homosassa, Florida passed away June 19, 2010 of cancer. He was born in Waukegan, IL on October 7, 1942, graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1960, and was married to Loretta (Stanley) Charlton. Larry served in the United States Air Force, was a long time member of the Illinois Plumbers Union, and Wisconsin Local Union 72 and retired from Chrysler in 2002. Larry was an avid fisherman, he spent much of his free time fishing the Chain of Lakes, and the Gulf of Mexico. He participated in many bass fishing tournaments and was a member of several Bass Clubs in the Channel Lakes Area. Retiring in Florida. Larry will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Loretta, sons Gary (Pauline), Steven (Christina) and Craig (Becky) Parker, daughters Elizabeth (Kevin) Jozwiak, Jennifer (Matt) Cassidy. grandsons Corey and Tyler Parker, granddaughters Tara and Victoria Parker, Madeline Cassidy, Elizabeth Jozwiak, sister Terrie (Huey) McGhee, brother in law BJ Ulry, nieces Teresa Crawford, Heather (Jeremy) Marcelain, Carrie McGhee and grand nieces and nephews Lauren, Jocelyn, Dylan, Katelyn, and Nolan. Larry will also be missed by his extended family Gerald, Jimmie, Garry, Richard, Sylvia, Sandy, Sharon and Lynda Stanley. Preceding him in death were his parents George and Beryl Charlton and sister Constance (BJ) Ulry. Visitation will be Thursday, June24, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL 60099 with a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Jack Kelly of Our Saviors Lutheran Church officiating. Interment to be at Mt Olivet Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Zion, Illinois or Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park in Homosassa, Florida.
