Obituary of Mary McGee

Mary V. McGee, 88, of Zion, Illinois, died on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion. Mary was born June 11, 1922 in Chicago and had lived in Park Ridge, Illinois and more recently Zion. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. Mary was a member and Past Matron of Eastern Star, Chicago. She enjoyed sewing and quilting as a hobby. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Herminia McDonald of Beach Park; three grandchildren, Janet McDonald of Highland Park, Mary McDonald of Beach Park and Michelle McDonald of Beach Park; three great-grandchildren, Jake McDonald, Marissa Galvan and Gabriella Galvan; and one sister, Jean Bachmann of Park Ridge, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell McGee; one son, Mitchell H. McDonald Jr.; and her father and mother, Roy and Eva Veitch. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Cemetery graveside services will be held on Friday, October 1st, at 10:30 a.m. at Warren Cemetery. Memorial donations to Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (www.AAMDS.org) have been suggested.
