Obituary of Scott Murphy

Scott N. "Murf" Murphy, 60, Winthrop Harbor, and formerly of Waukegan and Villa Park, died on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at home. He was born, June 10, 1950, in Chicago, and graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1968. Scott married Sherry Westover on September 7, 1974 , in Waukegan, IL. He had been employed as an electrician and was a member Local #150 IBEW. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sherry; daughter, Crickett (Jason) Campbell of Waukegan, IL; son, Jason Murphy of Rapid City, S. Dak; grandchildren, Raina and Skylar Campbell; brother, Larry (Bonnie) Murphy of Crown Point, LA; nieces, Monique Amundson and Michelle and Shannon Murphy; nephew, Sean Murphy and one great-niece, Arren Murphy. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nelson and Shirley Murphy, and by his nephew, Sgt. Warren Murphy in 2005. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment is private for the family.
