Obituary of Doris Dolan

Doris Mae (Haubrich) Dolan (89) was born May 1, 1921 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Albert and Emilie (Kroll) Haubrich. She was called to her heavenly home on Monday, January 17, 2011 in Waukegan, Illinois. She spent the early years of her life in Kenosha. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, and received her elementary education at Friedens Lutheran school. She graduated from Kenosha High School in 1939. On April 5, 1942 she was married to Henry (Harry) Dolan of Zion, Illinois at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukegan. After WWII they made their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before moving to Zion in 1954. They have lived in Zion since that time. During WWII Doris served her county on the home front working for the Selective Service board in Kenosha. She became well-known to many local residents through her 29 years as a teller at the Zion State Bank. She was a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zion, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, serving on the altar guild, and in many other capacities. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society. She is survived by her husband of 68 years; three children, Rev. David (Mary Lou) Dolan of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Mary Beth (Thomas) Williams of Wilmot, Wisconsin, and Rev. John (Carol) Dolan of Eden Prairie, MN, 12 grandchildren all of whom actively serve in ministry or careers of service to others, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Lilah (George) Donlon of Eden Prairie, MN, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn (Marvin) Haubrich of Bismarck, ND, as well as a nephew and 4 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Norma (Carl) Greening and Lucille (Joseph) Hart, and a brother, Marvin (Evelyn) Haubrich. Funeral worship will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zion on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00am. There will be a visitation prior at the church from 9:00am until the time of the service. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society.
