Obituary of Deacon Phillip Fragassi

Deacon Phillip A. Fragassi, 72, of Winthrop Harbor, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home. Phillip was born August 16, 1938 in Chicago and came to Lake County in 1963 from Evanston. He was a member and Deacon at the Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth. Phillip retired in 2005 as general manager of Lake County Public Water District after working there 43 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, A.W.W.A., and West Shore Water Producers Association. Phillip enjoyed scuba diving when he was younger and was a certified instructor. He was an avid Chicago Black Hawks, Bears and Cubs fan and he enjoyed electronics, computers and fishing. He along with his wife Diane enjoyed being Mr. & Mrs. Claus for charity purposes. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Diane; children, Mark (Tina) Fragassi of Waukegan, IL, Terri (Robert) Stanley of Wildwood, IL, Roxanne "Sam" (John) Young of Rochelle, IL, Lisa (Leigh) White of Zion, IL, and Steve (Erin) Fragassi of Kenosha, WI; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Fred (Chris) Fragassi of Glenview, IL and Joseph Fragassi of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Clara Fragassi. Visitation will be Sunday, February 20, 2011, from 3:00 until 5:00 and from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick, 15000 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, February 21st, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either Catholic Charities Family Self Sufficiency Program, 671 S. Lewis Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085, or St. Patrick's School, 15000 W.
